Gary James Farias

Gary started playing guitar and singing at 10 years old. In his long

career he has played extensively throughout New England, Tennessee,

and Texas and has performed in Canada, England, France, and the Caribbean. In 1985 he was voted guitar player of the year and his band was voted best vocal group by Massachusetts Country Music Association.

His style ranges from Folk and Country, to Classic Rock, American Songbook, and original music.

He has opened shows for Cheryl Wheeler, Iris Dement, John Hartford, Jesse Winchester, John Hall, Pousette-Dart Band, and others.

Aztec Two-Step 2.0

The story of Aztec Two-Step originated from a chance meeting in 1971 at an “Open Mic Night” in Boston, and is intertwined with the history of folk-rock music in America. In their first decade as a duo Rex Fowler and Neil Shulman recorded four albums on Electra and RCA Records that left an indelible mark on the genre.

Over the decades, they went on to record, and tour world-wide, receiving accolades and awards that include the New York Music Award for Best Folk Album; being the subjects of the PBS documentary “No Hit Wonder”; and having Real Simple, a popular national lifestyle magazine, naming their debut album as on of the all-time top five classic folk albums, along with works by Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Tom Rush, and Phil Ochs.

After Neal retired in 2018, Rex and his wife Dodie Pettit, an accomplished musician and original member of The Phantom of the Opera, became the heart and soul of Aztec Two-Step “2.0.” Together, with members of their own ensemble, they continue ATS’s musical legacy with fan favorites, forgotten gems, and new original compositions.

With a perspective equally influenced by her Texas roots and her Cape Cod home. Americana singer-songwriter Monica Rizzio has emerged as one of the finest talents in the East Coast music scene. Monica released her debut album, aptly named Washashore Cowgirl, in 2016; where it was Monica’s solo introduction after a decade in the trio Tripping Lily. Sunshine Is Free is her expansion - after time spent on the road, she realized it was time for her to start collaborating again and recorded the album in Nashville with producer Michael Rinne and a stacked lineup of guest musicians. Throughout the eleven tracks on Sunshine Is Free, Monica appreciates the little thinks in life and looks for silver linings where necessary. It’s clear she has a keen ability to connect; her songs are often autobiographical but delivered through a fictional approach that aids in creating a universal experience for the listener - whether it’s expressed using her trademark sense of humor or with such striking honesty that the pain in her voice is tangible.

Tom Rush

TOM RUSH

Now celebrating five decades of touring, Tom has been thrilling audiences here and abroad with his hits liek No Regrets, Circle Game, and Merrimack County.

Tom Rush’s impact on the American music scene has been profound. He helped shape the folk revival of the 60’s, the folk rock movement of the 70’s, and the renaissance of the 80’s and 90’s, his music having left his stamp on generations of artists. James Taylor, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, and Garth Brooks have cited Tom as a major influence. His early recordings introduced the world to the work of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor. Subsequently, his Club 47 concerts brought national attention to emerging artists such as Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin.
